Meet Alicia! Alicia is a Senior Associate Family Lawyer who brings deep experience to our firm and supports our clients with reliability, strength, and kindness. With her passion for criminology and the psychology behind the thoughts and actions of others, it’s no surprise that Alicia’s career has seen her work extensively in the justice system and the law.
Alicia studied a Bachelor of Social Science (Legal and Dispute Studies) in 2014, later completing her placement with Victoria Police. This not only kickstarted her career, but saw her accept a permanent role within their team. By prosecuting Intervention Orders and getting first-hand exposure to the court system, Alicia was motivated to pursue a pathway in law. She returned to university and earned her Bachelor of Laws Degree in 2019. She worked in the law whilst completing her studies, and went on to a role with the Department of Justice working with the Youth Parole board.
Alicia’s experience with the board gave her invaluable insights into the treatment of children in the justice system, how stability (or a lack thereof) can shape a child’s life, and how to remain level-headed and compassionate in the face of confronting circumstances. She understands the high stakes involved in separation, where clients are often dealing with two of the biggest matters of their lives: their children (if they have them) and the wealth and assets they accumulated over their lives.
A fine addition to Romer Maud, Alicia shares our values and passion for assisting clients through the challenges that naturally arise in their family law matters. She brings a calm, insightful energy, offering advice that supports our client’s lives and gives them the tools they need to move forward.
Outside of her passion for family law, Alicia is a talented cook who can be found exploring her local farmer’s market. She is very active in her church and loves spending time outdoors on a hike, going to the beach in summer, or taking her dog for a stroll.
