Meet Durra! She supports the Romer Maud team in her role as Senior Associate Family Lawyer, providing empathy, kindness and quality legal support to our clients.
Before starting her career in the law, Durra worked as Human Resource Officer, a role which helped her to develop nuanced skills in communication and negotiation. It also showed her how personalised support can support employees and employers to thrive in their workplaces.
With a commitment to the law, Durra received her Bachelor of Arts (Honours) and Law, majoring in Arabic Language and Translation.
In studying Arabic language and translation alongside the law, Durra noticed how supporting clients who speak little English were noticeably empowered in their decision-making with language assistance. In a world where a language barrier can impact how confident and connected a person feels while navigating the family law system, effective communication can make a big difference.
Durra’s care for the families she works with is immediately evident. Intelligent, level-headed, and warm, she is a great asset to the Romer Maud team, offering valuable strategies and options that prioritise the best interests of each client. She is someone who notices details, listens deeply and understands the building blocks of an amicable outcome.
Outside of supporting our team, family, friends and community are on her mind and in her heart. She is a proud mum to three cheeky boys, and loves spending time with her family and friends. Durra is also very involved in her church, teaching Sunday school to her community each week. We are very proud to have her onboard at Romer Maud!
